📋 Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • An account on OVH Cloud
  • A Dedicated Server ordered from OVH
  • An account on our website with an active subscription or credits
⚠️ Note about Dedicated Servers: OVH Dedicated Servers are more powerful than VPS and use real physical hardware (not virtual). This means there may be differences in disk type and BIOS settings.

Step 1: Order a Dedicated Server from OVH

From OVH Manager:

  • Go to Bare Metal Cloud → Dedicated Servers
  • Choose a server with your desired specifications
  • Pay attention to the disk type:
    • SSD/HDD (SATA): You'll select SDA on our site
    • NVMe: You'll select NVMe on our site

Step 2: Install Linux OS

From the OVH control panel:

  1. Go to Install or Reinstall
  2. Select Install from OVH templates
  3. Choose Debian 11 or Debian 12 (recommended)
  4. Select Custom installation if you want to control partitions
  5. Click Install and wait for it to complete (may take 10-20 minutes)
💡 Tip: If there are multiple disks, OVH will install Linux on the first disk. Our service handles this automatically.

Step 3: Verify BIOS Settings

Dedicated servers may need BIOS adjustments:

  • From OVH Manager, go to IPMI or KVM
  • Ensure Boot Mode is compatible (UEFI or Legacy depending on the version)
  • Our service automatically determines the appropriate settings in most cases

Step 4: Get Your SSH Credentials

After Linux installation, you'll need:

  • IP Address: The server's primary IP
  • Username: root
  • Password: The one you set or received via email
  • Port: 22

Step 5: Start Installation from Our Website

  1. Log in to your Dashboard
  2. Click "New Installation"
  3. Enter your server details (IP, root, password, 22)
  4. Select the desired Windows version
  5. Important: Select the correct disk type:
    • Standard SSD/HDD → SDA
    • NVMe drive → NVMe
  6. Click "Start Installation"
⚠️ Warning: Selecting the wrong disk type will cause the installation to fail. If unsure, check your server specs in OVH Manager.

Step 6: Monitor Installation & Connect

  • Follow the progress bar in the dashboard
  • Dedicated servers may take 20-45 minutes
  • After completion, connect via RDP:
    • Address: Server IP
    • User: Administrator
    • Password: Shown after installation
📩 Post-Installation Instructions:
  1. First, perform a reboot through the OVH/Hetzner Panel to return to normal mode.
  2. Ignore this step if you use Android or iOS app.
  3. You now need to open this file for the first time:

  4. Then enter the default password a1234#. The system will then prompt you to change your password.
  5. Default username: Administrator
